RPI Presidential Search
Dear RPI Alumni,
As you may have heard, the search for a new RPI president is formally underway. By this time next year, we should know who will take the reins to lead our alma mater into its third century. Until then, the search committee will have challenging and important tasks ahead of them. The chairman of the Board of Trustees, Arthur Golden ’66, has requested input and suggestions from the RPI Community to be given to the committee. We strongly encourage you to respond to this request.
Please consider what skills and attributes you would like to see the new president bring, and the most pressing issues to be initially addressed. Please be respectful and sincere. Discuss one or two things that you care deeply about. Give suggestions on how to guide the selection process toward an individual most likely to be able to succeed in these matters.
Dust off your writing skills, put pen to paper or fingers to a keyboard and write to the chairman of the search committee, John Kelly, with a copy to committee member Curtis Powell (see addresses below). If you are so moved, please share them with us. Promote your ideas and suggestions with your local Rensselaer Alumni Association Chapter. We all must contribute to this very important process in order to boost RPI toward a brighter future.
